PLAY-Offs For Morton After Disappointing Last Game

30 April, 2021 | Morton

MORTON failed to guarantee their place in the Championship next season after a draw in their final match.

The Greenock side played out a goal-less away encounter with Arbroath. Sean McGinty was sent off in the 66th minute.

The point — and a draw for Ayr United against Inverness Caledonian Thistle — meant Morton remain in ninth place and enter play-offs in an effort to avoid relegation.

The side finished with 29 points after 27 matches, all of which were played behind closed doors because of the covid pandemic.
