A PLAN to sub-divide a vacant Greenock shop into a convenience store and hot food takeaway is off the menu.

Inverclyde planners have rejected the aplication which involved premises at 150A Wren Road.

A report by officials stated: “The proposal lies within a predominantly residential area and the hot food takeaway use has the potential to adversely impact on adjacent residents by way of cooking odours together with noise, activity and disturbance late into the evening.”

No public objections were received.

Drawings included with the application showed the takeaway with signage saying ‘Wren Road Chippy’.

The shop was to be open from 7am to 9pm and the takeaway from 4pm to 11pm, both seven days a week.

The applicant can appeal against the decision.
