COUNCILLORS are being asked to approve a plan to knock down an old Scout hut and garages ahead of marketing the site.
Inverclyde Council reached a deal last year in which the 32nd Scout Group took ownership of a disused care facility in Bank Street, Greenock as a new base.
In return the Scouts transfered ownership of their land and buildings at Mearns Street/Armadale Place to the council.
A report to councillors on the council’s environment and regeneration committee states: “In order to reduce ongoing empty property costs, committee is asked to approve the demolition of these redundant buildings, prior to marketing.”
