PEDAL In The Park Challenge To Go Ahead On Different Date

23 March, 2021 | Noticeboard, Sport

A NEW date has been announced for the Pedal in the Park cycling challenge through the countryside of Renfrewshire, Inverclyde and North Ayrshire.

The Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park event was due to take place on Sunday 2 May but has been moved to Sunday 23 May to tie in with relaxation of pandemic lockdown restrictions.

The 115-kilometre non-competitive sportive is aimed at road bikes, but hybrids, e-bikes, etc are welcome. It is not a closed road event.

It is held in support of CLIC Sargent in Scotland which helps families of children affected by cancer. The entry fee is £20 and more than a third of this goes to the charity.

The challenging route, with around 1,650 metres of climbing, starts at the park’s Castle Semple Visitor Centre in Lochwinnoch.

The event is hosted in collaboration with Ride63 Community Cycling Club. Entry is through British Cycling.
