A NUMBER of police officers were needed to restrain a man who allegedly assaulted paramedics at a property in Greenock.
The medical crew requested emergency assistance yesterday (Thursday) around 4pm while treating a 39-year-old male at Waverley Street.
The patient had allegedly hit one of the paramedics with a crutch and thrown the other over a couch before they were able to summon help.
Sergeant Jason Logsdon said: “Due to the male’s size and strength, a number of officers were required to restrain him safely on being arrested.”
The man has been held in custody to appear at court.
