Inverclyde Now Logo TAE Kwon Do — Inverclyde Students Compete in Scottish Championships

INVERCLYDE Cho’s Tae Kwon Do Scotland traveled to Cowdenbeath to take part in Icon Scottish Tae Kwon Do Championships.

Tae kwon do clubs from all over Scotland took part plus a group from Hereford in England.

Fourteen students from Inverclyde competed and came away with 17 medals, three Scottish titles, eight silver and six bronze.

This was impressive as for six students this was their first big competition.

Brandon Matznick and Liam Laughlan put in a great effort but just missed out on medals.

Patterns:

Silver place: Declan McIlwee, Katie Wright and Owen Harvey.

Bronze place: Jaxon Boyle and Adam Engleby.

Points sparring:

Gold place: Aiden Bradley and Rebecca Foley.

Silver place: Dean Cushnaghan and Thomas Collins.

Bronze Place: Noah Laverty, Katie Wright, Owen Harvey and Stephanie Turner.

Continuous sparring:

Gold place: Aiden Bradley.

Silver place: Leah MaCallum, Thomas Collins and Stephanie Turner.

Inverclyde Cho’s Tae Kwon Do studio is at 11a George Square Greenock. Classes for all ages, from three-and-a-half years upwards take place every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Newcomers get a free trial week.
