Inverclyde Now Logo SWIMMING — Success For Port Glasgow Otters At National Contest

FOUR members of Port Glasgow Otters swim team travelled to Grangemouth Sports Complex to take part in the 47th Scottish Disability Sport Championships for swimmers with a physical or sensory disability.

With more than 60 swimmers taking part, it was an exciting competition and the Otters returned with a fantastic tally of 12 medals -– six gold, four silver and two bronze as well as several personal best (PB) times.

Eve Cushnaghan won two silver medals in the 50-metre backstroke and 50-metre breaststroke. Kyle Brotherton won three gold medals in the 75-metre individual medley (IM), 50-metre breaststroke and 100-metre freestyle.

Isaac Dunning won a full set — gold in the 50-metre butterfly, silver in the 100-metre backstroke and bronze in the 100-metre IM.

Richard Browning won a silver medal in the 100-metre freestyle and bronze in the 100-metre breaststroke.

Isaac and Richard won a further gold medal each as they competed as part of the 4 x 50-metre relay team representing the West of Scotland who were triumphant in winning the Team Trophy.
