FOUR members of Port Glasgow Otters swim team qualified to compete in the SDS National Junior Swimming Championships for Swimmers with a Learning Disability.

Zak Gallacher, Courtney Clark, not pictured, Aimee Hagan and Ross O’Donnell took part in the contest at Tollcross International Aquatics Centre in Glasgow after success in the West of Scotland Swimming Time Trials.

After a really challenging competition with tough races, having to swim in heats first to qualify for the finals, the Otters won six medals between them and all secured personal best times at the national event.

Zak had two great swims but didn’t medal on this occasion.

Courtney won a gold medal in the 25m freestyle.

Aimee won a gold medal in the 50m breaststroke and a bronze medal in the 100m individual medley.

Ross won a gold medal in the 50m breaststroke and two bronze medals, in the 50m backstroke and 50m butterfly.
