Inverclyde Now Logo STEWART Completes His 200th Greenock Parkrun

STEWART Anderson clocked his 200th parkrun on Saturday — with all of his five-kilometre runs being completed at Greenock.

Cardiac nurse Stewart took up parkrun to keep fit and drop some pounds and it has become a regular feature of his weekend routine.

Despite living only half-a-mile from the Esplanade course, in the early days Stewart, above, right, drove to the start line. Now he regularly runs six or seven miles on parkrun days. Stewart is now looking forward to achieving his official 250th milestone towards the end of next year.

Most runners have to record 50 runs to earn a free milestone t-shirt but junior runners can earn this after ten runs — Alan Mollins, above, was pleased to achieve his white Club 10 shirt on Saturday.

Thirteen runners recorded personal best (PB) times. Junior runner Calum Brennan achieved a sub-21 minute run for the first time, his second PB in as many runs.

On her 44th run at Greenock, Lorna Mitchell stopped the clock at 21:12. Helen Crawford, above, left, who has completed all of her 39 parkruns at Greenock, was delighted to record a PB of 27:14.
