GOLF — Gourock Mixed Open Competition

NINETY-six players from 13 golf clubs competed for the Rice Trophy in the Gourock Mixed Open Competition. 

It was a perfect day for golf with lots of sunshine — a lucky break in the very variable weather in recent months.   

Gordon and Susan Tyre, from Blairmore and Strone Golf Club, took the handicap prize and the trophy with a winning score of 71.2.  

The Scratch prize was won by Gourock members, David Slack Jnr and Maureen Woodhead, with an excellent 82.
