Girls’ Under-Nines — After a lengthy Easter break, the girls were back in action. The team had no subs, so every girl played every minute and did brilliantly. They scored more than 20 goals between them and conceded three. The first game was against Palace Park. Leah was quick to react and got the Juniors’s first goal of the day, almost from kick-off.  Heilidh added the second to ensure a draw for the girls. Next was Morton and the the girls did well, their passing and positioning improving as the game went on. Erin O’Brien got her first hat-trick of the day, Heilidh got on the score sheet and Amy Lee also got her first goal for the Juniors.

In the match with Dumbarton, who are fairly new to the girls set-up, both teams did well, goals coming from Erin (2), Heilidh and Leah. The girls then played another Dumbarton side in a game that was more physically demanding. It ended in a draw, with Erin, Leah and Heilidh all getting goals. The last game was against Giffnock. The girls’ passing and movement was getting better and there were goals from Erin (5), Heilidh (2) and Leah. The girls did well, considering they had no subs, and are improving all the time, but more importantly, are having fun. Scorers — Erin O (11), Heilidh (6), Leah (4), Amy Lee

Girls Under-11s — The team played three games, against Palace Park, Partick Thistle, and Gleniffer. There were only seven players so there were no subs and all the girls played every game and gave 100 per cent effort. Some individual brilliance and great passing saw the girls win every game. There was great tackling and defending — the girls only conceded two goals across the three games. The team also scored some crackers. Player of the day was Aimee Murray.  |  The team thank sponsors Belhaven Dentist

The Girls’ Section is looking to add to their squads for all age groups — Under-Nines, Under-11s, Under-13s, Under-15s and Under-17s. Anyone interested should phone Mags on 07908 206 262.

2003s — The team had a home game against Bishopton Juniors. The Port scored three goals without reply. All boys played in their positions well and the teamwork was fantastic. There were great goals from Jack, Seb and Callum. Man of match was Jack Findlay. With only a few games to go, the boys are aiming to finish as high as they can. They have a midweek game then take on Port Boys in a derby game next Saturday.  |  The team thank sponsors Trevor Mackay and Brian Hooper
