Inverclyde Now Logo FOOTBALL — Update From Port Glasgow Boys’ Club

15 March, 2017 | Sport

THE 2008s played their second seven-a-side match at the Port campus against one of the Morton Community sides.

With a full squad to choose from, the team lined up with Max starting in his new defensive position after last week’s brilliant performance alongside Oliver.

Both players controlled the game from the back and limited the opposition to a few chances in a goal-less opening half.

In the second half, Kieran continued to probe for openings, linking up with Logan, Ben and Cameron.

This high-pressing game led to a chance for Leo on the right and, after a great save by the young Morton goalie, Leo followed up to open the scoring.

The goal settled the nerves and quickly Kieran surged forward and unleashed an unstoppable right foot shot high into the goal.

Both teams had lots of chances and traded another couple of goals with Sam marking his game with a fine hat-trick.

This was another good development game for all the boys.
