Ava Beaton with her dad Paul

Junior runner Ava Beaton completed her fourth parkrun and knocked almost a minute off her best time to achieve a new PB of 24 minutes, showing her dad Paul a clean pair of heels in the process.

Also achieving personal bests were John McKee, Andrew McIntyre, William Osborne, Jodie Nelson, Cathrine Grisdale and Clive Nelson.

Parkrun regulars the Crawford family swapped Greenock for Gran Canaria and participated in the Trans Gran Canaria Ultra Marathon. This race is normally a 270km foot race across the popular Canary island.

However, mum Wenda, dad Graham and kids Abigael and Cameron took part in the shorter family stage of this international event and got to rub shoulders with the elite of world ultra-distance running. They will return to Greenock this week sporting well-deserved medals.

Cathrine and Stephen Grisdale visited Greenock for the second time. They are regulars at Barrow parkrun in the north of England and have completed more than 400 parkruns between them.
