TWO familiar faces at Greenock parkrun have celebrated participating in the event for the 200th time.

Ever-cheerful Andy Cameron is a regular fixture keeping runners going with his big green hand high-fives and encouraging comments from his usual tailrunner volunteer spot.

He has completed the Esplanade course 186 times as well as parkruns on 14 occasions elsewhere.

Also reaching her double century was Lesley Clark who has been taking part at Greenock parkrun since the first event in May 2014. Of her 200 parkruns, 196 have been at Greenock.

Despite the difficult conditions brought by Storm Dennis, 120 people took part on Saturday, including 21 first-timers.

Even in such a driving wind, five runners still managed personal best (PB) times — John Green, Paula Vosper, Gary McEwan, Chris McLachlan and Fiona McEwan.

First male home was Andrew White in 17 minutes 21 seconds and first female, in 21st spot overall, was Maria McCabe in 23 minutes 22 seconds.
