INVERCLYDE Velo riders were out in force at the annual time trial and hill climb on the Isle of Cumbrae.
The time trial course takes riders round the island in a clockwise direction and measures just under nine miles.
Eighty-five riders had signed on to race the popular event with conditions remaining dry but very windy.
Paul McGonigle was the fastest Inverclyde Velo rider, stopping the clock with a superb time of 20:06, securing sixth place. Next home was Ross Fleming with another super time of 21:09 (13th place).
Lewis Beck rode a solid race with a time of 21:23 (16th Place). Other Velo riders were George McCarter completing in 22:33 (28th), Tom May, pictured, 22:51 (34th), and Kevan McCartney 24:16 (52nd).
The race was won by David Griffiths of Bioracer Moriarty Bikes with an excellent time of 18:57. Thirty-seven riders took part in the 1.5-mile hill climb.
There was another excellent performance by Paul McGonigle, again the highest placed Inverclyde Velo rider, crossing the line in 4:58 in second place. He was denied the win by just 14 seconds.
Jim Logue, 5:30 (7th), and Stephen Leckie 5:32 (8th), also had great results making it into the top 10 in a quality field. Other Velo results were Kevan McCartney, 6:16 (20th), George McCarter, 6:28 (25th) and Tom May, 6:34 (26th).
The race was won again by David Griffths with a time of 4:44.
