NINETY people took part in Greenock parkrun on Saturday — including Charlotte McKay who was completing the five-kilometre Esplanade course for the 100th time.

Charlotte’s daughter Marianne and granddaughter Aimee joined her to celebrate the achievement. Charlotte has been a stalwart at Greenock parkrun since starting in March 2015 and will also be completing her 25th time volunteering at the event soon.

Nine athletes recorded new personal best times.

Ross Gray, above, put in a great run to take 21 seconds off his previous best to move under 16 minutes for the first time. This also comfortably takes him into the top 10 all-time fastest runs at Greenock.

Junior Ava Beaton, above, paced by dad Paul, took nearly 30 seconds off her best to move under 22 minutes for the first time. She was also second female home.

Also improving their times were Richard Newsome, Rhys Jones, Dannie Seddon, Stephen Fulton, Rosa Dow, Alison Sturgess and Felicity Ross.
