BOWLS — Greenock And District Bowling Association Competition Update

GREENOCK and District Bowling Association’s Top 10 final was played at Grosvenor Bowling Club.

Gourock Park were the winners against Wellington Park. The Gourock side got off to a good start with a win in the singles.

This was followed up with victories in the other three disciplines to complete a clean sweep of victories.

President Ricky Kennedy congratulated the finalists at the end of play and thanked Grosvenor BC for the use of their greens.

The district also held its qualifying night for the Fletcher Cup. The final, which is to be held at Wellington Park, will be played between Gourock Park and the 2018 winners Rankin Park on Wednesday 17 July.

This Sunday, Rankin Park host the semi-finals and the final of the Reid Cup. The semi-finals start at 10.30am with Port Glasgow playing Ardgowan, and Lady Alice up against Wellington Park. The final is due to start at 3pm.

The association wish the current Scottish Pairs champions, S Wotherspoon and J Fleming jnr of Port Glasgow all the best when they take part in the British Isles Championships this week.
