YOUNG American Football squad Inverclyde Mighty Ducklings enjoyed a trip to see Glasgow Rocks basketball team in action.

The youngsters were delighted to see the Rocks triumph over Newcastle Eagles in a league game at Glasgow Emirates Arena.

At half time the kids were able to join cheerleaders The Rockettes on the court for a dance and at full-time got on the court again to meet The Rocks themselves and club mascot, Rocky the Mountain Gorilla.

Mighty Ducklings general manager Kevin McAdam said: “We all had a great time at the basketball. The kids loved the spectacle of it all, being able to get involved and meet the players for photos and autographs.

“Them enjoying themselves and gaining an interest in sports is why we started this club and hopefully this is the start of a great partnership between The Glasgow Rocks and Inverclyde American Football.”

Inverclyde Mighty Ducklings hold sessions for two to 12-year-olds every Sunday, 10.20am, at Flex UK Glenburn Street in Port Glasgow, and can be contacted via Facebook.
