GOUROCK athlete Georgia Morrison ran a lifetime best over 200 metres at the Scottish University Track and Field Championships in Grangemouth.

Georgia, running as an invited guest, contested both the 200 metres and 400 metres.

Her first event was the 400 metres and, being guest to the event, Georgia was allocated the outside lane where she was out of the blocks sharp and well into her pace approaching the back straight.

Georgia pulled ahead and was leading into the final bend. Approaching the home straight, her slight lead extended on the final 50 metres and she recorded a victory in the fastest heat time of the day. As a guest she was unable to contest for the podium in the final later in the day.

In the 200 metres it was always going to be a challenge to achieves a second victory of the day, however after clearing the blocks and getting into her running, Georgia began making headway into the lead her competitors had developed.

Over the last 80 metres, Georgia closed the gap with every stride to cross the line just off the lead but recording a new lifetime best for her efforts.
