ATHLETICS — National Success Over 400 Metres For GeorgiaGOUROCK athlete Georgia Morrison strode confidently to the top of the Scottish under-20 women 400-metre rankings while competing at the National Indoor Open at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow.
Georgia, representing Aberdeen Amateur Athletics Club, went through the first lap ahead of schedule.
Entering lap two, Georgia continued her flowing style on the back straight, making the effort look easy as she cruised around the final bend and into the home straight, crossing the line and securing the fastest time for under-20 women of the day.
Georgia followed this up with a lifetime best over the 200-metres as she accelerated from the gun to open a gap over her fellow competitors which she held throughout the remaining distance claiming victory and a new personal target.
Georgia’s performances emulated training partner Scott Hannaway with the two local athletes finishing the championship as the fastest under-20 athletes in the country.
Georgia represented Scotland under-18 team over 400 metres in the Celtic International in the summer
