OPENING Day Of Ardgowan’s Bowling And Tennis Seasons

PANDEMIC restrictions and a delayed start to the season did little to dampen spirits at Ardgowan Club as the bowling and tennis seasons officially got under way.

President Danny Chundoo greeted guests and members outside the clubhouse as his wife Joan delivered the first jack and bowl of 2021.

Anna Seggie, president of the Greenock and District Women’s Bowling Association, and Ernie McElwee, president of the Greenock and District Bowling Association, were both in attendance as representatives of kindred clubs.

Meanwhile Myra McCready, wife of vice-president Charlie McCready, served the first ball of the new season on the tennis courts.
