PLAIN Sailing For Boat Club's Boat Shed Plan

THE Royal West of Scotland Amateur Boat Club have been given permission to build a new boat shed on the beach at the club's base at The Esplanade, Greenock.

It will have a footprint of about 55 square metres and will replace a container that is currently used.

The proposal was approved by Inverclyde Council planners who said the position of the shed meant it would not have an adverse impact on the setting of the category B-listed clubhouse.

The design and appearance was considered to be acceptable for its shore-side location.

|  There is an open day at the club on Sunday (23 April)  from noon to 5pm
