A DOOR steward was punched in an unprovoked attack at a Greenock pub.

The assault happened at the front door of the Green Oak Bar, Inverkip Street, around 8pm on Saturday.

The attacker was leaving the premises at the time. 

Police inquiries are continuing to trace the suspect. 

Any witnesses are urged to contact officers on 101 quoting incident 3648 of 16 November.
