POLICE have thanked members of the public who helped save the life of a man in the water at Greenock.
Emergency services were called at 3am yesterday (Sunday) to Custom House Quay.
Sergeant Jason Logsdon said: "Quick-thinking members of the public assisted in securing the male until officers arrived and were able to get him onto the quay side.
"Police would like to thank the people involved for their brave actions."
The man was treated by an ambulance crew.
