LEISURE Chiefs List Seven New Ideas For Indoor Bowling Centre

A LIST of possible alternative uses for Inverclyde Indoor Bowling Centre has been drawn up including 10-pin bowling, crazy golf, go-karting, skateboarding and BMX biking, a trampoline centre and an assault course based on TV show Ninja Warrior UK.

The idea of introducing different activities is raised in Inverclyde Leisure's draft three-year strategic plan (for 2017 to 2020) which has still to be approved by the leisure trust's board and Inverclyde Council.

The draft states that in Year Three of the plan the trust would "consider future alternatives to the Indoor Bowling Centre due to the operational timescale and decline in usage."

The document then lists the possible future options.

The facility in Port Glasgow Road, Greenock has eight rinks and operates from September through to March.

Inverclyde Leisure took over the running of the building in 2011 when the club faced closure because of declining membership and incraesed costs.
