DETECTIVES have made several arrests after five people were allegedly assaulted in three separate incidents in Greenock and Gourock on Sunday.
Officers were called to St Andrews Drive in Gourock on Sunday just after 1am. A 28-year-old man was arrested for allegedly seriously assaulting a 22-year-old woman. He is also charged with a common assault on a 62-year-old man.
Then at around 5am, a 54-year-old man suffered a hand injury in an incident at a property in Lyle Street, Greenock. A 61-year-old woman was arrested for alleged serious assault.
Finally, a man, aged 39, and a woman, aged 38, were allegedly attacked at a property in Cathcart Street around 3pm. The man suffered an injury to an eye socket and a cut to his head.
A 47-year-old woman was arrested for alleged serious assault and common assault. A man who was involved in the incident has still to be traced.
All the accused are expected to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court today.
