WORK on a housing development in upper Gourock is due to begin in the autumn following sale of the site.

Globe Homes have purchased the land, which is bounded by Tower Drive, Jacobs Drive, and McPherson Drive, and was formerly occupied by the McPherson Centre.

The 1.75-acre site already has local authority approval to create 22 three-bedroom semi-detached houses.

City Gate Construction (Scotland) Ltd has been appointed as the main contractor for the site, in conjunction with Rebecchi Architectural which is working towards lodging a building warrant submission this month.

The proposed development has seen a high level of interest from the public. It’s anticipated the first homes would be ready for occupancy in spring 2023.

“This is an exciting development, and we look forward to working alongside Globe and City Gate Construction to deliver these highly sought homes in Gourock.

“Bowman Rebecchi has seen a lot of demand from potential purchasers, and we expect this to be a very popular development.”
