INDIE Inverclyde is set to turn up the volume this spring with two live gigs at the Beacon Arts Centre, Greenock.
The next instalments in the acclaimed series will spotlight homegrown Greenock funk and soul outfit Sovirez, followed by the return of Glasgow favourites Wojtek the Bear, with support from rising indie contenders The Rants.
Greenock’s own Sovirez bring their infectious blend of classic funk and soul infused with contemporary dance and pop energy to the Beacon stage on Friday 27 March at 7.30pm.
The five-piece — vocalist Anthony Squires, Steven Jess (guitar), Neil McKenzie (bass), Chris Squires (drums) and Graeme Gray (keyboard and trumpet) — have been making serious waves across Scotland and beyond.

With regular radio plays on BBC Introducing Scotland, BBC Radio Scotland and Amazing Radio UK/USA, the band continues to build national momentum.
Having supported the likes of Callum Beattie, Wrest, Mickey 9s, Brownbear, Blue Rose Code and Sam Greenfield, alongside selling out headline shows across Scotland, Sovirez are fast becoming known for a live show packed with groove, energy and unforgettable hooks.
Meanwhile Wojtek the Bear return to the Beacon on Saturday 4 April at 7.30pm
Following their 2025 support slot with JJ Gilmour at the Beacon, Glasgow-based indie favourites Wojtek the Bear return with their expansive, emotionally-charged sound.
Formed in 2016 and releasing their debut album in 2018, the band has toured extensively across the UK and Europe, earning praise from listeners and critics alike. Their music has featured in leading publications including The Scotsman, The Herald, Clash Music and Snack Mag, alongside airplay on BBC 6Music, BBC Radio 1 and KEXP.
Supporting will be Glasgow outfit The Rants. Despite only forming recently, the band has already made a significant impact across the Glasgow live circuit, filling iconic venues such as King Tut’s, Glasgow Art School, St Luke’s and SWG3.
Now expanding beyond their local roots, The Rants are touring nationwide and making their mark on festival stages across the country.
Tickets are available from the Beacon on 01475 723723.
