THE founder and group chief executive of Inverclyde-based security technology specialist Safer Group has been honoured with a UK-wide accolade.
Ryan Clark, from Greenock, has been included in the prestigious Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders for 2025 list compiled by LDC, part of Lloyds Banking Group, in partnership with The Times.
The annual list celebrates exceptional entrepreneurs from across the UK who have demonstrated outstanding ambition, innovation and leadership.
Ryan was presented with his award at an official ceremony held at BAFTA, Piccadilly, London, along with other dynamic and visionary business leaders.
Competition for the accolade is high, regularly attracting a vast number of nominations. The LDC spotlight leaders who have made a tangible impact through job creation, sustainability initiatives, social equality, and international growth.
Ryan worked as a security guard after leaving university at 18 years old and founded Safer Group using his own savings in 2016.
He soon developing the company’s signature Safer POD intruder detection system after identifying a gap in the market.
Safer Group, based at Kelburn Business Park in Port Glasgow, has grown from a small team of installers to a UK-wide security innovator that is now experiencing rapid international expansion.
The company received the Journey to Net Zero trophy at the Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce 2025 ICON Awards last month.
A recent successful partnership with Durham Constabulary to promote retail crime solutions demonstrated the company’s ongoing commitment to improving community safety through technological excellence.
Investment in research and development is expected to continue and Ryan has expressed an interest in national defence and infrastructure security.
