MURDER Charge Over Death At Caravan Park

A 21-YEAR-old man has appeared in court charged with murdering a 33-year-old man at Wemyss Bay caravan park.

Sean Ward from Motherwell is accused of murdering Raymond Cosgrove.

Police were called to a report of a man having been injured at the holiday park early on Sunday.

Emergency services attended Mr Cosgrove was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ward appeared in private at Greenock Sheriff Court on Tuesday and made no plea.

He was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

Detective Inspector Nicky Beattie said: “I’m aware this incident will be a cause of concern for people and I would like to confirm Raymond’s family is being supported by specialist officers during this time.”
