MORTON Progress In Play-Offs After Extra Time In Second Leg

A GOAL in the last minute of extra time kept Morton’s Championship hopes alive.

The Greenock side beat Montrose 3:1 at Cappielow in the second leg of their play-off semi-final, having lost 2:1 in the away leg.

Gary Oliver put Morton ahead in the fifth minute and Cameron Salkeld made it 2:0 in the 19th minute.

Montrose pulled one back in the 35th minute, forcing extra time.

Craig McGuffie’s goal in the 120th minute clinched it for Morton who now face Airdrieonians in the play-off final.
