MORTON found themselves among four teams all equal on points at the top of the Championship after an emphatic victory over Inverness.
The side beat Inverness Caledonian Thistle 4:0 at Cappielow on Friday night.
Robbie Muirhead put Morton ahead in the sixth minute, with Grant Gillespie making it 2:0 just six minutes later.
There was an own goal just before half-time, and Cameron Blues scored the fourth in the 73rd minute.
Morton are in second place, behind Ayr United, and ahead of Queen’s Park and Inverness, who are all on 21 points.
Ayr United play on Saturday, as do Partick Thistle who are in fifth place on 20 points.
