MORTON have signed former Inverness Caledonian Thistle defender Zak Delaney on a two-year deal.

Zak started his footballing journey in Ireland before joining the Youth Academy at West Bromwich Albion in 2018. He spent four years at The Hawthorns including a loan spell to Bath City during the 2021/22 season, making five appearances with them in his first season of men’s football.

Delaney joined Inverness on a two-year deal in July 2022 making more than 50 appearances including the Scottish Cup final in June 2023. He went to Arbroath on a short-term deal in January 2024.

Manager Dougie Imrie said: “Zak is a player who has caught my eye both in his time at Inverness and Arbroath latterly last season.”

“Zak is a natural left-back and will bring great balance to the squad. He is a player who likes to get forward and support the forward line.

“He also brings a wealth of experience having reached a Scottish Cup final with Inverness.”
