MORE Arrests Over Alleged Murder

TWO women have been charged in connection with the death of 50-year-old Robert Best in Inverclyde.

Mr Best’s body was found in a field near High Mathernock Farm, Kilmacolm on Tuesday 11 November. He had been reported missing from Greenock on the same day. Extensive police inquiries took place at a property in Lansbury Street, pictured above, in relation to the death.

Police Scotland said that they had arrested and charged two women , aged 41 and 64. They are due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Wednesday. A 41-year-old man also arrested today has been released pending further inquiries.

Two men, aged 44 and 51, were previously arrested and charged in connection with Mr Best’s death. Both appeared at Greenock Sheriff Court on Wednesday 12 November.

A 45-year-old man was previously arrested in connection with assault and released pending further enquiries.

Enquiries are ongoing.
