Inverclyde Now Logo ‘MEET And Greet’ Volunteers Needed For Flu Jab Sessions

22 September, 2020 | Noticeboard

VOLUNTEERS are needed to help run flu vaccination sessions at community locations in Inverclyde.

‘Meet and greet’ volunteers will welcome and direct patients, ensure they are following the one-way system and help patient flow throughout the building.

Community venues are being used as well as GP surgeries this year for the flu jabs because of the Covid pandemic

The clinics will operate as follows:

• Greenock Town Hall, from 29 September for 11 weeks

• Port Glasgow Town Hall, from 29 September for four weeks

• Kilmacolm Community Centre, from 29 September for two weeks

• Gamble Halls, Gourock starts 12 October for three weeks

There will a morning session and an afternoon session each day. Volunteers can only do one session per day and a maximum of three per week.

Personal protective equipment and out-of-pocket expenses will be provided. Volunteers must be over 18 years of age with no underlying health conditions

Organisers are looking for people who are friendly and welcoming, have good listening skills and the ability to empathise with others, can maintain confidentiality at all times and are fit and healthy, as the role is quite active.
