A MAN searched by police in Greenock’s shopping centre was allegedly found to have a knife.
Officers stopped the 29-year-old male in the Oak Mall at 12.40pm on Thursday.
He was allegedly in possession of a lock-back knife.
He was arrested and charged and is scheduled to appear at court on a later date.
Community Inspector Andrew Durk said: “People who carry knives in public will be robustly targeted by police because it’s simply unacceptable and can put lives at risk.”
