A 67-YEAR-old man needed hospital treatment after a property was set on fire in Greenock at 2am (Tuesday).
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the wilful on Sir Michael Street.
Detective Constable Ruth Elder said: “This was a reckless and despicable act which could have resulted in a fatal outcome.
“I am asking anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed something suspicious to get in touch.
“Similarly, anyone with private CCTV or dashcam footage is also asked to contact us.”
