MAN In Critical Condition After Being Found Injured In Street

DETECTIVES are investigating after a man was found seriously injured in a Greenock street.

The 44-year-old was discovered in Gael Street around 7.15pm pn Sunday.

He was taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where staff describe his condition as critical.

Detective Inspector Nikki Wake said: “Our investigation as to how the man came about his injuries is continuing.

“Officers have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries and checking CCTV in the area but we would appeal to anyone with information to come forward.

“If you were in the Gael Street or Jura Street area last night between 6.45 and 7.15 and saw anything that will help our investigation, then please contact police via 101 quoting reference number 3082 of 12 September.
