A TEENAGER allegedly called police and told them he was in possession of weapons in Port Glasgow.

The incident, involving a 17-year-old, happened near Woodhall train station around 5pm yesterday (Thursday).

Sergeant Jason Logsdon said: “There was a large police response whereby the male was traced allegedly in possession of a large knife and threatening to harm himself.

“After a period of time, officers managed to secure the male who was highly agitated and aggressive.”

He was arrested and conveyed to hospital for treatment.

He is expected to appear in court at a later date in connection with various alleged offences.
