POLICE say extensive enquiries are underway after a man’s body was found in countryside between Port Glasgow and Kilmacolm today.
Officers were called to a field near High Mathernock Farm around 9.20am on Tuesday.
They say the body has not formally been identified but that the family of a 50-year-old man, who had been reported missing from Greenock on Tuesday, have been made aware.
Police Scotland further stated: “Officers are also investigating a disturbance in Lansbury Street, Greenock that was reported around 2.45am on Tuesday and enquiries are ongoing to establish if this is linked.
“Three men, aged 51, 45 and 44, have been arrested in connection with assault and extensive enquiries are ongoing.”
