A CONVOY system and junction closures will be in place for 12 nights of roadworks on the A78 in Greenock.
Contractor Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on Inverkip Road between Neil Street and Cumberland Road from Friday 14 November until Wednesday 26 November, between 8pm and 6am each night.
This work will be carried out in five phases, with traffic affected as follow:
Phase 1: From Friday 14 November until Sunday 16 November — Convoys will operate overnight between Pennyfern Road and Neil Street, plus closure of Pennyfern Road and Neil Street junctions.
Traffic wishing to use Pennyfern Road junction will be diverted via Pennyfern Road, Maple Road, Woodstock Road, Hole Farm Road, Peat Road and Dunlop Street to re-join the A78.
Traffic wishing to use Neil Street junction will be diverted via Neil Street, Munro Street, Curlew Crescent and Grieve Road to re-join the A78
Phase 2: From Sunday 16 November until Wednesday 19 November — Convoys will operate overnight between Branchton Road and Cumberland Road, plus closure of Gleninver Road and Cumberland Road junctions.
Traffic wishing to use Gleninver Road junction will be diverted via Gleninver Road, Larkfield Road, Hilltop Road, Larkfield Road, Cumberland Road and Auchmead Road to re-join the A78
Traffic wishing to use Cumberland Road junction will be diverted via Cumberland Road and Auchmead Road.
Traffic wishing to turn right from Branchton Road to the A78 northbound will be diverted via the A78 southbound to Bankfoot Roundabout to join the A78 northbound.
Phase 3: From Wednesday 19 November until Sunday 23 November — Overnight convoys will operate between Neil Street and Branchton Road, as well as the closure of Gleninver Road and Neil Street junctions. Traffic will use the above diversions.
Phase 4: From 8pm on Sunday 23 November until 6am on Monday 24 November — Convoys will operate between Pennyfern Road and Neil Street.
Phase 5: From Monday 24 November until Wednesday 26 November — Overnight convoys will operate between Neil Street and Branchton Road, plus the closure of Gleninver Road junction. Traffic wishing to use Gleninver Road will follow the above diversion.
