LONGER-Than-Expected Closure Of Route To Popular Scenic Spot

10 February, 2021 | Local, Noticeboard

REPAIRS to one of the roads that lead to beauty spot Loch Thom are now expected to take at least another 10 days.

Dunrod Road has been shut to traffic between its junction with Millhouse Road, near Inverkip, and Cornalees Bridge at the Greenock Cut visitor centre since the weekend.

Inverclyde Council initially said the closure would be in place for a few days to allow for repairs as a result of carriageway deterioration.

But Clyde Muirshiel Park said this afternoon (Wednesday) that the road would be closed until at least 21 February.

The park added: “If there are any delays it may be longer.”

Traffic can only get to Cornalees via the Old Largs Road.
