LIFETIME Cappielow Bans After Racial Abuse

4 January, 2022 | Morton

TWO people have been banned from Morton’s Cappielow ground following a racism incident at a match.

The club started an investigation after a report of racial abuse being directed at a Morton player from among the home support in a game against Ayr United at Cappielow last month.

Morton confirmed today that two individuals have been given lifetime bans from Cappielow Park.

Meanwhile one person involved in an incident at an away match against Raith Rovers has been banned for up to 18 months.

The club stated: “Racism has no place in football, or wider society. As a club, we condemn all forms of racism, and any racist behaviour will not be tolerated.

“Greenock Morton Football Club have been extremely grateful for all the information and evidence provided in relation to the two incidents.”
