THE Ladies’ and Junior Inverclyde Golf Champion of Champions events were recently played with Dorothy Fisher (Greenock) and Nathan Love (Whinhill) triumphing.
The Ladies’ competition was contested between Joanne Wallace of Gourock Golf Club and Dorothy Fisher of Greenock Golf Club and was played at Greenock.
The match was close with never more than one hole separating the players until the last hole where Dorothy secured a 2-up victory.
The Junior Champion of Champions competition was contested between Callum Watters (2022 Junior Champion of both Gourock and Greenock Golf Clubs) and Nathan Love (2022 Junior Champion of Whinhill Golf Club) with the Junior Champion of Port Glasgow Golf Club (Zack Docherty) unable to participate.
This match was also closely contested with no more than one hole separating both players.
A terrific birdie ‘3’ at the 17th hole gave Nathan a one-hole lead going down the last, and with both boys making a bogey at the tough last hole, Nathan was crowned the champion.
