
INVERCLYDE Council says it is making progress towards reopening a vital countryside route that’s been closed for nearly three years.
Dunrod Road, which leads to Loch Thom, has been closed since the end of July of 2022 because it is in danger of collapse.
Access to Greenock Cut visitor centre at Cornalees is currently only via Old Largs Road.

Councillors agreed in September 2023 that a new stretch of road should be built
Investigation works to get information about the ground conditions are due to begin on Monday (16 June) and last for five weeks.
The council say this will inform the detailed design for the route realignment for which it has set aside £1.5million.
