INVERCLYDE Remains At Top Of Covid Infection Rate Table

LATEST figures show Inverclyde continues to have the highest rate of covid-19 infection in Scotland.

The total number of cases in the district in the seven days up to 8 January was 1,619, a rate of around 2,101 per 100,000 of population.

The infection rate across Scotland over the same period was 1,627.

Out of Scotland’s 32 local authorities, Inverclyde’s level was highest — just ahead of South Lanarkshire (2,044) — although the district’s level has fallen from 2,726 last week.
