A GREENOCK pre-five centre has been praised by inspectors.
Madeira Nursery was checked by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education in Scotland who found a number of key strengths.
Their report about the private facility in Newark Street stated: “Children are happy and settle quickly in their nurturing environment. As a result, they engage very well in their learning and development.
“Managers and staff have developed positive relationships and know all children very well. They have created a welcoming and inclusive environment, which supports the individual needs of all children and families.
“The extensive outdoor environment supports children’s health and wellbeing. As a result, all children confidently take part in a range of experiences, which support their wellbeing and resilience well.”
Two areas for improvement were identified. The report states: “Staff should continue to document the wide range of learning experiences provided to clearly demonstrate the breadth of curricular opportunities available for children on a daily basis.
“As planned, staff now need to develop further their approach to tracking children’s learning. In doing so, they should ensure they capture fully children’s significant learning.
“We are confident that the setting has the capacity to continue to improve and so we will make no more visits in connection with this inspection.”
