THE massive Tesco store/multi-storey car park in West Stewart Street, Greenock opened in the late 1970s.
These photos, supplied by Eric Webster, show the building in 1990/91, and contrast with current views.

The store replaced Scotland’s first Tesco supermarket, which was in Westburn Street, and was itself later replaced by the current Dalrymple Street premises.

The top two floors of the car park were removed in the early 1990s.
The retail space has continued to be used by a variety of operators.
Last year, police raided part of the building and recovered cannabis plants with an estimated value of £3.6million.
