IMPRESSIVE Performances At Greenock Parkrun

6 September, 2021 | Sport

THERE was another bumper crop of personal best times at Greenock parkrun on Saturday.

Of the 106 people who had run the five-kilometre Esplanade before, 26 recorded improved times. There were also 20 people taking part for the first time.

Fifteen runners managed to go under 20 minutes, despite the fresh wind on the home straight.

First male over the line was David Henderson (Inverclyde AC), just managing to break the 17-minute barrier with a time of 16:59.

First female home was Lauren Reid, also recording a new personal best time of 20:21.

Despite the strengthening wind making things difficult, there were also personal best times for Sam McVicar (18:14), Eric Lindsay (19:39), Callum Gorry (20:03), Ross Slater (20:05), William Taylor (20:14), Matthew Deegan (21:46), Karl Skelton (21:53), Juliet Watson (23:03), Chris Burrows (23:29), Lisa Boonsanong (24:08), Jill Aikman (24:18), Lynsey McLaughlin (25:21), Jospeh McFadden (26:20), Lindsay McGowan (27:23), David McEwan (28:26), Evie Harrison (29:11), Moira Grant (29:40), Tommy Johnston (30:25), Lorna Dewar (32:02), Mary Robinson (33:58), June Ann McKnight (34:03), Gary Gilmour (35:34), Sarah Neilson (36:29), Elizabeth Divers (43:13) and Catherine McIlhargey (43:19).
