INVERCLYDE Council has started its search for a new contractor to build a landmark cruise terminal on Greenock’s Waterfront.
Work halted at the site earlier this year after construction firm CBC were put into administration.
The council is now inviting companies to bid for the £6.2million contract which is scheduled to start in February 2021 and be completed at the end of March 2022.
When planning permission for the centre was given in April last year, the council said it was due for completion in 2020.
The new contract notice states: “Inverclyde Council are seeking to appoint a suitably skilled, resourced and experienced contractor to undertake the design and build of the new Ocean Terminal building, art gallery and restaurant and associated environmental/public realm works.”
The structure will have an arrivals/departure wing, a gallery dedicated to the works of sculptor George Wyllie and a first-floor restaurant.
